HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN NANAIMO

The Nanaimo Blues Society Webmaster is taking a break in March to go and tango in Argentina. If you want to be up-to-date on what's happening, make sure you sign up for our email Blues news list as noted above.  Hasta pronto.

THURSDAY NIGHT BLUES JAMS hosted by the Nanaimo Blues All-Stars at the new HEADLINERS located at 165 Fraser Street, next to Mrs. Riches in downtown Nanaimo. Doors open at 7:30 pm with a performance by the All-Stars followed by a guest band, then the open Blues jam. Entrance Fee: $2.00 for jammers; $3.00 for non-jammers. DAVID GOGO will be receiving the 2009 City of Nanaimo's Excellence in Culture award. The honour will be presented at an awards ceremony @ the Beban Park Social Centre Lounge on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. For details and to RSVP, call the City @ 250-756-5200.

ChrisandDianaSUMMERTIME BLUES! 2009 ORIGINALS still on sale at the Nanaimo Art Gallery, 150 Commercial Street!!! Gerda Hoffman, the artist who was painting en plein air at this year's Summertime Blues! has completed 16 of the paintings and they are now for sale at the Gallery. Proceeds from the sale will be shared equally between the Gallery and the Nanaimo Blues Society. The Society will apply its share to artist fees for Summertime Blues! 2010 (August 19-22, 2010).
